General Statement of International Competition
The Busan International Short Film Festival presented an excellent overview of short films from 29 countries. The beauty of a festival like this is it can show how vibrant and alive the short film is in many parts of the world and this is very encouraging for the future of filmmaking, which too many people assume is dying. Judging by the quality of the films shown here, it seems that the short film is alive and doing very well around the world.
