As artifacts from the past, recordings of any kind allow us to preserve relics of our loved ones after their passing. But, while images merely let us see them physically, sounds retain echoes of their anima: the cadence of their speech, the train of their thoughts, and their individual, intrinsic, inimitable rhythm.
