Under the veneer of a classic Japanese haunted-house film, Red Spider Lilies, with its elegant cinematography and stylized performances, constantly defies expectations. While this film does bring its own unique interpretation to the psychological concept of "generational curse breaker", explaining more would ruin its fun. (Sébastien Simon)
